Today, Gabriel “Gabriel” Funes-Soto confirmed on his personal Twitch stream that GMS has effectively dropped Spencer “Zurka” Rash from the GMS lineup and acquired Kevin “Eco” Smith.

The roster change comes just days after TOX reported they would move away from Eco to make room for two-time Halo World Champion, Mathew “Royal2” Fiorante on an HCS Weekly Interview.

Though Eco holds National Championship titles of his own during his time at Splyce, the decision to swap the North American slayer for former-TOX man, Royal2, seems a move more fit for the longevity of this team.
The on-boarding of Royal2 completes three quarters of the original TOX and former OpTic Gaming roster that was widely considered to be the greatest Halo 5 team and debatably, the greatest Halo team of all time.
As far as GMS is considered, bringing in Eco is a solid move across the boards. GMS had made their debut at DreamHack Atlanta 2018 in the Halo 3 2v2 Showdown, finishing in first and quickly establishing themselves as the new era heavyweights in the scene.
The newest GMS lineup will make their competitive debut online in the UGC Halo 3 Winter Series kicking off on February 8.
