In light of the ongoing pandemic crisis, Pop Flash will take place entirely online for “the safety of the players, production staff and the fans.” The tournament will feature two groups comprised of four teams with three days of group play leading into a four team double-elimination playoff.
Vice President of Brand at B Site Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles commented on the announcement in a release: “We’re excited to join the VALORANT Ignition Series with Pop Flash. B Site is honored that we can help to lay the foundation for a brand new global esport in a way that sets a standard for sustainability and future success,” says Mykles. “Pro team organizations are just beginning to find their footing in this new arena and events like this will be a crucial stepping stone for player recruiting and team development.”
Pop Flash will feature a notable cast of commentators including Christine “Potter” Chi, Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg, Daniel “ddk” Kapadia and Erik “DoA” Lonnquist, with additional broadcast talent said to be announced soon.
All tournament matches will be streamed on Flashpoint’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
